About Heavenly cakes.
Kim Jacobs and Gerrit Janssen are the creative souls behind heavenly cakes. Both studied bread, Pastry , Baking and chocolate preparation at the Antwerp PIVA college in Belgium. Gerrit is no less than the 7th generation of bakers.
He worked in the family owned bakery for more than 10 years. The desire to open his own bakery with a more modern and creative approach to classic Belgian pastry grew with the years.
Kim managed her own tea room when she met Gerrit, after joining the Janssen bakery for a while. She and Gerrit decided to take the plunge. This dynamic duo full of creative ideas opened their new bakery “Hemelse Taartjes” (=Heavenly cakes) on 1st September 2012 in beautiful Bruges (Belgium).
Freshly baked cupcakes, imaginative cakepops, enchanting bridal cakes, custom made heavenly cakes and cute sugar beans… all these new and fresh ideas are based on the crafty bakers knowledge Kim & Gerrit have acquired over the years, combined with Kim’s sense of style and imagination. This merge of taste, color and creativity defines and distinguishes Heavenly cakes from the more classic bakeries.
